it’s a funny story. how it all got going. a chance meeting. in between the to and fro-ing. it just fell together. we had no way of knowing. and that’s how this groove got going. that’s how it all got flowing. just let it go. just thought we’d see what would grow. then it started happening. caught everybody napping. it moved so fast. showed no sign of slowing. so when we look back to it. that’s how this groove got going. you had a sense she knew things that you wanted to know. she never told you. she’d never hold you. not properly. like she meant it. and when you so wanted her to. that’s when she’d always go. you weren’t thinking clearly. it's cost you dearly. the money’s already gone. and you’re blowing all the goodwill. that you worked so hard to build. how much will you pay for the thrill. behind every wall there’s another life. behind every door there’s another story. we’ve seen your home. we’ve met your wife. she doesn’t look forty. but who lives next to you. and do they know what you do. through the curtains they’ve seen the truth. through the cracks they’ve had a view. under the rug there’s a dirty secret. under the floor there’s something worse. they know that’s where you keep it. you better hope you get there first. you know they’re onto you. there go your dreams of glory. they’ll let out the true story. you’re not the person you pretend to be. not as good as you’d have us believe. you’re just like everyone else. sad and lost and looking for help. and then there's all the stuff you've enjoyed. how’s it feel now you’re paranoid. paranoid. enjoy ya paranoia. ah ha ha ha.  unreasonably young. unreliably well hung. happy way too soon. no time for regret. or lick your wounds. give me ten million dollars and i’ll never talk to you again. that goes for all your family too. buy me out. i’ve got a high horse for sale. and a few morals. hardly ever used. though occasionally left at the pub after a few.
