it’s about faith and folly. it’s just another story of reckless indifference and way too much pride. it’s cultural and political. and not very critical of the bosses or the losses. or on whose side they would fall. it’s about your place and your race. it’s about what you believe and what you would do. not about goodness or what's fair. more often despair. less about love. more about money. like anyone cares. and if you hid no-one would know. if you stopped going. someone else would go. it’s about passion and fashion. and other distractions. and knowing what to say. it’s about language and damage. and way too much baggage. there’s just us and there’s them at the end of the day. it’s easier just to go along. don’t make a big song. let’s dance. lead break. so what is your answer. what gives you cancer. what stops you sleeping at night. you keep checking the figures but they don’t deliver. it’s about faith and folly. reckless indifference and way too much pride. and the things you've got to do. to get by. common impressions. in the bedroom. indigestion. make some headroom. last night’s confession. the rum rebellion owes a lot to alliteration. the get-high nation. life never rhymes. it only keeps time. and never tells you it’s going out. or when it will be home. but still you’re doing fine. forward thinking. never blinking. the rule of law. and suspicion. and twenty twenty intuition. don’t see too many penguins in the black and white nation. and when there’s no rum there’s no alliteration. dry land gone brown. scorched earth all around. down time on the kitchen table. only doing what i’m able. life is short. getting shorter. work’s a treatable disorder. i’m just trying to make my genetic contribution. trying to help us find a solution. i’m OK. i’m humming along. and you’re just sitting there telling me i’m doing it all wrong. but i’m totally up for a little criticism. please give me the benefit of your wisdom.
